The grapes: 100% trebbiano di Lugana.
The vineyard: the production zone is quite restricted but characterised by a unique clayey soil, rich in salts and very compact, which never suffers from drought. The training system of the vines produces low but very high quality yields.
The vinification: picked in just the right state of ripeness, the grapes are vinified by the white wine method and undergo a long, slow fermentation with selected yeasts followed by a partial second fermentation which makes the bouquet richer and the taste softer.
The wine: gold in colour, with a full and complex bouquet of particular elegance, very balanced flavour with a pleasant and lingering aftertaste of almonds.
Food matches: freshwater fish, egg-based dishes, white meats. Recommended glass: medium-sized goblet with long stem
