Description: A joyously unique Schreckbichl white wine cuvee, opulent on the nose with a whirl of aromas reminiscent of citrus fruits, gooseberry, ripe apple, floral scents especially of elderflower mingled with fresh herbs such as sage and mint, all in perfect synergy. Delightfully fresh, concentrated and balanced on the palate with zesty acidity.
Food Choices: A youthful wine, delicious with hors d'oeuvres, lightly-flavoured starters, pasta, risotto, white meats, vegetarian dishes and fish, or on its own before a meal. Serve lightly chilled, 10° C.
Grape Variety: 50 % Pinot Blanc 35% Chardonnay 15% Sauvignon
Sites: Hillside vineyards in the area of Schreckbichl-Girlan at altitudes between 400-450 m. Grown in morainal soils.
Winemaking: Each variety is vinified separately. Fully ripe grapes are gently pressed, the juice is allowed to settle, after which the clear must is fermented in stainless steel tanks with the temperature maintained at a constant 16-17° C to obtain a multi-faceted, fruity white wine. The wine is subsequently blended to obtain a sum from this trio of grape varieties which is greater than its parts, a wine with a successful interplay between fruit, freshness and opulence.
