"Atise" is the oldest documented name for the Adige River, which, after the last Ice Age, originally flowed across the hilly area where Cornaiano is now located. The mixture of alluvial sand, clay and calcareous soils around Cornaiano/Appiano provide the ideal conditions for the demanding Gewürztraminer vine to thrive and yield wines like our "Atisis", robust and silky with a complex aroma of rose petals, nutmeg, cinnamon, ripe oranges and lemon balm.
