"This sauvignon comes from the northern bank of the Río Bueno, in an area of heavy rains in Chile's southernmost wine-producing community, about 930 kilometers south of the capital, Santiago. Acidity is the common thread that runs through the wines produced there, and that's clearly evident in this example. However, a warm year in the area has given it extra ripeness and a certain fattiness that lends it breadth and a certain very slight sweetness in a deep white with a lot of balance."

"From the northern bank of the Río Bueno, in an area of heavy rains in Chile's southernmost community of producers, about 930 kilometers south of the capital, Santiago. The climate factor directly influences the personality of this wine and offers a kind of lemon juice turned to wine, with citrusy aromas and flavors everywhere and the force of the sharp and penetrating acidity in the middle of a medium body with very good creaminess. This wine would go perfectly with shellfish ceviche."

"From the volcanic soils of the hills in Trapi on the northern bank of the Bueno River in Osorno, this sauvignon has a very different character from those produced farther north in coastal zones such as Casablanca or San Antonio. According to Eduardo Jordán, the wine's acidity is so high in this cool zone that they have to let it macerate with its lees for a long time so it will gain body and balance out that acidity. That results in a creamy-textured sauvignon like lemon juice in heavy cream. This wine has nerve and tension. For sea urchins."

"Torres has been working with a producer in the south who has vineyards on the bank of the Bueno River, in the La Unión zone for the past 5 years, and they've been testing the results from chardonnay, pinot noir, and especially sauvignon. With the latter variety, they've finally dared to release something under the Cordillera line. This wine used to come from Elqui and made an extremely exuberant sauvignon. Osorno, in contrast, is much more severe and austere, and the wine with intense acidity that fills the palate with freshness. There's fruit on all sides--very lively, very crunchy fruit. One more example of the power of the south."
