"This is the fourth version of this Special Cuvée (the first was the 2016, and they didn't make it in 2017 because it was too warm a year). It's a chardonnay designed in a succulent style, focused on lactic flavors (it has 20% malolactic), although it relies on the freshness provided by the coastal vineyards in Zapallar, an extreme area of the Chilean coast, very close to the Pacific, about seven kilometers away. The wine is deep in flavors, creamy in textures, and has that dichotomy between hard and piercing acidity from the sea and the friendliest, creamiest textures. Montes planted this chardonnay vineyard in 2010."

"Brilliant light golden colour. Intense nose, some new oak, roasted nuts, a hint of smoke, yellow fruit and ripe citrus. Very fresh bite on the palate with medium weight, intense flavour, crisp yellow fruit, some earthy asparagus/ginger/liquorice notes, well integrated oak and a long, lingering aftertaste. Flamboyant and expressive nose but more restraint and precision on the palate."
