"Una aproximación deliciosa al pinot noir, este tiene frutas rojas jugosas y frescas, con algunas notas a tierra que le dan complejidad, pero es principalmente frutal, muy concentrado en expresar la influencia del mar en su carácter, el frío del Pacífico. La acidez juega un papel importante, diseñando una columna vertebral de tensión y verticalidad, una estructura más bien severa y austera que contrasta con sus sabores frutales. Este vino proviene de viñedos sobre la costa, a unos 12 kilómetros del mar, plantados a partir de 2005."

"Para los pinot y chardonnay más ambiciosos de Errázuriz, ellos recurren a sus viñedos de unos 15 años plantados en la zona de Manzanares, a 12 kilómetros de la costa de Aconcagua. En suelos ricos en pizarras, la fruta para el pinot tiende a producir vinos algo más verticales, menos exuberantes y, como es el caso aquí, con una red de taninos firme, muy presente en la boca, algo habitual en la cepa cuando se pone seria. La estructura es vertical, una especie de imán de taninos y acidez que atrae todo hacia el centro del paladar y lo proyecta hasta el fondo de la boca. Un pinot delicioso hoy en un muy buen momento, pero que ganará complejidad en tres a cuatro años."

Vaya a saber uno qué efecto tienen las pizarras en las costas de Chile, pero el hecho es que aquí, a este pinot, le dan un lado ferroso, sanguíneo, mucho más complejo que la simple fruta. Pero ojo, que hay fruta de pinot aquí, las frutas rojas radiantes de clima fresco en año muy frío. Pero son esas notas, las más oscuras, las que seducen."

Quite truffly, but good red fruit too. The palate has a subtle red and black fruit dryness, with a juicy personality, really quite dry, both the acidity and the silky tannins, that chestnut dryness."
