This is a cuvee of selected grapes Cabernet and Merlot. The morainic, gravelly and barren soils in combination with the steep and poor slopes give this wine a big complexity of nuances through a perfect harmony between the sort of vine and the wooden notes. The colour is a deep garnet red, the scent is characterised by many nuances of forest berries, intense to the palate with a full and long persistence.
The Südtiroler Edelvernatsch, also known as Schiava, is a light-bodied wine, whose color is light ruby to deep ruby red. It is pleasant and fruity on the palate, often with a touch of bitter almonds.
A superb Pinot Noir, whose concentration is clearly heralded by its dark ruby colour. Initially it seems somewhat closed on the nose, but then opens up in the glass to reveal its authentic, noble Pinot Noir origins. The aroma reminiscent of sour cherry and raspberry is enhanced by a delicate hint of vanilla and spice. On the palate it shows excellent harmony with elegant acidity, well-integrated sweet tannins and enormous concentration of aromas.
The Kolbenhof Gewürztraminer is characterised by sumptuous fruit. Deep golden yellow in colour with green reflexes, on the nose it is reminiscent of ripe apricot and peach intermingled with exotic fruits such as lychee, mango and passion fruit. The fruit characteristics follow through on the palate; full-bodied, luscious but dry, the opulence cut by vibrant, firm acidity finishing elegant, dry and aromatic.
Bright pale yellow tinged with green; attractive ripe orchard fruits on the nose, elegant and multi-faceted, yeasty with hints of honeydew melon and citrus fruits supported by firm acidity typical of the growing season, leading to a flinty aftertaste. Food Choices: Pasta and fragrant summer dishes, fish and seafood, white meats and fresh cheeses.
