Original South Tyrolean Mini Schüttelbrot traditional with caraway & fennel / 350g pack
Lightly-baked, crunchy rye bread in small format. Caraway & fennel are the two spices that have been traditionally used as ingredients for the original South Tyrolean Schüttelbrot. These two spices not only contribute to its unique taste, they are also easily digestible. As a rule, our South Tyrolean Mini-Schüttelbrot is eaten between meals (during a so-called ‘Jause' or ‘Brotzeit') or rather during a light afternoon meal (the South Tyrolean ‘Marende'). It makes of course a perfect accompaniment to wine and beer and is therefore ideal for all consumers who want to indulge in 100% natural crunching fun.
Ingredients: Rye flour 86%, wheat flour, yeast, salt, caraway 1%, fennel 1%, malt extract, malt flour.
The making of Schüttelbrot is inextricably entwined with the history of South Tyrol. This rustic family recipe has been handed down generation to generation. Our 'Bauern Schüttelbrot' is made with light rye flour and carefully improved with caraway and fennel - 100% natural crunching fun, of course.
The South Tyrolean wild boar's salami Villgrater is produced of 60% of wild boar's meat and 40% of pork, is dried mildly spicy with a light red wine mark and afterwards in home mountain air. The wild boar's salami belongs to the particular specialities of the butcher's shop Villgrater!
We only use the finest pork for our fennel salami and it is made with natural spices. The salami gets its spicy taste the gentle drying and maturing in the South Tyrolean mountain air. This brings out the delicate flavour of the fennel.
The South Tyrolean deer salamis Villgrater is produced of home deer meat with vigourous pork bacon, is refined with local wild herbs and afterwards air-dried.
Schüttelbrot is a crispy mixed rye bread in the form of a flatbread, which is traditionally hand-shaken. A typical South Tyrolean speciality, light to the bite and particularly digestible. Ideal with bacon, cheese or a good glass of red wine.
