Gewürztraminer, which are originally the South Tyrolean lowlands, are special. Some are blown away by the full-bodied, flavorful white wine, others find it completely too "flowery".
When distilled, this flavorful, spicy variety of grape boasts a rich, multilayered bouquet of flavors. The Dolomiti Gewürztraminer grappa by Zu Plun is made of the pomace of grapes Gumphof near Fiè allo Sciliar.
Stylistics: It smells warm and complex with elegant floral notes.
These Grappas are distilled grape skins deriving fully ripe and absolutely healthy grapes grown in the Neustift estate, grape skins which yield single grape brandies characterised by clean, pure, clear-cut varietal character.
The multifaceted fruit scent of the Riesling is also present in this grappa. It has notes of peach, apricot, quince, and green apple. It tastes full-bodied and characteristic, at the same time, it is surprisingly smooth.
