"Aromatic nose with sweet plums, dark fruits and lovely sweetness. Even young, the wine is forward, enveloping with caressing tannins. The finish is very long. The fruit and sweetness is powerful with 14.8% alcohol, one of the highest over the past 10 years. It was a small quantity - 33hl/ha. 84% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc."

"Voluptuous and full bodied with round, plummy flavors and layers of dark berry and mocha. This wine is punchy and quite upfront, perhaps because of its youth and the ripe vintage. One can enjoy this now but it should keep well over the next decade."

"An intense, concentrated l'Evangile with notes of tobacco, cedar, dark plum and cocoa. There is great intensity as well as power in this wine with a long life ahead. Persistent finish."

"Jeannie Cho Lee" hat den Wein "Chateau L'Evangile, Pomerol, France" aus dem Jahrgang 2014 am 01.03.2015 mit 93 von 100 Punkten bewertet.

"Subtle aromas of blackberry, plum and black tea. Supple tannins that are refined and have a velvety texture. Nice density and depth with long finish. 18% Cabernet Franc in this vintage; the average is usually only 10% Cabernet Franc. This year the IPT is 67 (not that high) and the pH is 3.3, which explains its freshness. The alcohol is 14% but one does not feel this at all."

Yields were 27 hl/ha in 2013, much lower than normal. There is natural 13% alcohol in the wine. 100% new barrels used here which are well integrated into the wine. Enjoy over the next 8 years. There was much work done In the vineyard over the past few years includig creating better drainage. 73% of the grapes went into the grand vin. Lovely, accessible flavours with fairly long length. "A gorgeous, silky textured Pomerol that is in its absolute prime - I don't think this wine can get any better. Flavours are expressive, generous and detailed. Leather, sweet red plums, cassis and cedar on the palate. Long length. A beautiful bottle. Tasted in: Hong Kong, China. Maturity: Drink."

94 von 100 Punkten.

"Jeannie Cho Lee" hat den Wein "Chateau L'Evangile, Pomerol, France" aus dem Jahrgang 2011 am 01.04.2012 mit 94 von 100 Punkten bewertet.

"This Pomerol has a gorgeous aroma of ripe plums and violets with seductive flavours on the palate. There is good density and concentration here with plush, ripe tannins. The wine is 94% Merlot. Thorough, strict selection made phenomenal wine in 2011. The alcohol is less than in 2010 and 2009, but still almost 14%. Long finish with ability to age for decades. This property increased by 6 hectares but the total quantity produced in 2011 was the same as in 2012 with severe selection. The 6 ha was purchased just before harvest in 2011. Tasted in: Bordeaux, France. Maturity: Young."

Jg. 1985 Jeannie Cho Lee:

94 von 100 Punkten.

"Jeannie Cho Lee" hat den Wein "Chateau L'Evangile, Pomerol, France" aus dem Jahrgang 1985 am 01.04.2012 mit 94 von 100 Punkten bewertet.

"Fairly deep garnet colour with an aroma that seems much younger than its age. The flavours have only just started to evolve with the plums fading into spices and hints of leather. Elegant, perfect to drink now with silky tannins and a long finish. This is pure wine drinking pleasure. Not complicated, not about power, but pure pleasure. Tasted in: Bordeaux, France. Maturity: Drink."
