The 2020 Clos Lunelles is composed of 80% Merlot coming in with an alcohol of 14.79% and a pH of 3.65. It is being aged in French oak barriques 50% new. Deep purpleblack colored it springs from the glass with vibrant notes of crushed black cherries and black raspberries giving way to hints of wild blueberries chocolate box and cardamom with a touch of violets. On the palate this wine expresses notes of crushed strawberry, bright raspberry and more lightly blueberry combined with hints of liquorice, fresh lily and hints of tart/fresh blue berries as well as a subtle hint of redcurrant and a fine touch of mocha, toast and a fine touch of toasted almond. Good length. The tannins are precise and relatively mellow. Nice work on the bitter taste, depth, nice acidity and a fine chewiness on the finish/persistence."
