Grapes: Intense ruby red with garnet highlights. A wine of remarkable intensity on the nose, which layers bell peppers and wild berries over a background note of vanilla. The palate San Leonardo is a skilful blend of wines three grapes that are fermented and aged separately: 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc and 10% Merlot. Before it goes into bottle, the precise proportions of the blend are decided only after rigorous tasting of samples, barrique by barrique.

A superb Pinot Noir, whose concentration is clearly heralded by its dark ruby colour. Initially it seems somewhat closed on the nose, but then opens up in the glass to reveal its authentic, noble Pinot Noir origins. The aroma reminiscent of sour cherry and raspberry is enhanced by a delicate hint of vanilla and spice. On the palate it shows excellent harmony with elegant acidity, well-integrated sweet tannins and enormous concentration of aromas.
Colour: intensive, dark garnet red. Aroma: complex and multi-layered, ripe berry aromas with cherries and barberries, tangy notes of tobacco and leather, elements of liquorice and eucalyptus, forest soils, dense and full. Taste: convincing structure, finesse and character, soft and velvety nature combined with concentration and extract, finely integrated acidic base, pronounced tannins, fresh and invitingly drinkable, persistent quality - truly one of the most authentic and best interpretations of the native South Tyrolean Lagrein grape
