Grapes: 100% Kerner (Riesling x Trollinger)
Age of Grapes: 10 – 35 years
Position: Muttergarten and Trifall (community Kaltern), 460 metres above sea level
Ground: very stony, lime crushed stones
Training-system: high-cordon and Guiot
Wine growing: cold maceration on the bowl, fermentation below 16 – 18°C in steel vats, 6 months storage on fine yeast. A part of the most ferments and stores in oak barrels with 500 litres.
Food recommendation: ideal as an aperitif; Seafood and Asian cuisine
Serving temperature: 11ºC – 13°C
Deion: green yellow colour; elegant fruit notes of ripe peach and apricots. While drinking it has its full-body and classy taste; it ends continuous and mineral.
A full-bodied white wine, dry and superbly zesty. Fruity and mineral aromas with lots of body. Like the dragonfly. That is our Kerner.
As soon as the cheese is mature, it is rolled in black pepper. This gives it a covering of black pepper that rounds off its spicy, peppery flavour: a subtle, tasty combination of flavours that guarantees perfect satisfaction.
Golden yellow color. Extremely complex range of aroma with notes of the red apple, the Williams pear and melon, underlined by a decent note of timber. It is strong while drinking with a balanced body and a fresh aftertaste.
