Questo vino pregiato deriva dalla zona di Bolzano-Gries. Il Lagrein è un vitigno autoctono dell'Alto Adige e viene coltivato da gran parte in questa zona di Bolzano. Il sistema di coltivazione è la pergola tradizionale. La raccolta, la messa in cantina e la stagionatura avvengono con la massima cura.
Questo vino di intenso colore rosso rubino, dopo aver fatto un'affinamento in fusti di legno per circa 12 mese, si presenta benissimo ad una lunga stagionatura.
Il Lagrein si abbina ottimamente a pietanze forti con carni rosse, selvaggine e formaggi stagionati.

A vivid ruby-red wine with an elegant sweet aroma of sour black cherry and redcurrant. Round with a silky mouth-feel, long an delicately bitter on the finish.
Sextner grey cheese dairy Sexten, spicy and aromatic low-fat cheese which is prepared with onions, olive oil, some pepper and salt, speciality South Tirol.
One of the traditional South Tyrolean dishes are the bacon dumplings, hand made by the butcher's shop Villgrater in Sexten/Sesto.
