PRODUCTION AREA: Sandy, warm and deep soils such as the ones we find in the area called Bassa Atesina are ideal for the grape varietal Lagrein. The Lagrein is native to Alto Adige and grows throughout the Valle dell'Adige.
WINEMAKING: The grapes are picked by hand and placed in small containers to prevent excess pressure on the grapes. Destemming and slow must fermentation at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. Malolatic fermentation and aging in big wooden barrels and concrete vats for 8 months.
TASTING NOTES & FOOD MATCHING: The Lagrein has a fine and pleasant bouquet, reminiscent of violets. Its flavour is full, velvety and slightly bitter and it also keeps well. This is a wine that goes well with grilled and roast meats, game and spicy cheeses.
Allergic-Info: This wine can contain sulfites
We improve the solar-matured, high vitamin fruits which grow at our yard to tasty fruit spreads. Because health and well-being are the primal goals, we also pay attention to the naturalness of the product: a fruit portion of 70% and a careful heating guarantee the preservation of the valuable vitamins which are in every single fruit.
The stone pine is a tree that usually grows on an altitude of 1800 m and is appreciated for its digestive and soothing properties. The cones are left to infuse cold in fresh grappa with stone pine cones that will confer the traditional red colour. Spicy and unique flavour.
The Lagrein has a dark ruby colour, during its youth with violet, later with garnet red reflexes. It is a pleasant, dry red wine, with notes of violets, chocolate and liquorice, on the palate it is velvety and with mild acidity. It is rich in tannins, but in the Bolzano basin, these tannins evolve in a very mild and sweet way. Recommended pairings are game, red meat and ripened cheese
With its delicate and fresh but nevertheless full-bodied character, the Pinot Blanc Plattenriegl becomes a versatile wine and an excellent accompaniment to starters and fish dishes. At the same time, it is well liked as an aperitif and is also perfect for a traditional Sunday brunch.
Its soft, slightly elastic texture and typical, intensely aromatic almost pungent flavour make Stilfser a unique speciality of its kind, destined to amaze both cheese-lovers and even the most demanding of connaisseurs
