ABOUT THE WINE: Yellow Muscat is one of the world's oldest grape varieties. The Romans spread it its area of origin in Asia Minor throughout their entire empire. Thus the grape came to the area of Alto Adige over two thousand years ago, where it has been known by the Germany name "Goldmuskateller" since the Middle Ages. Alto Adige Yellow Muscat is for the most part vinted with pronounced residual sugar. Among the exceptions is the dry Kurtatsch Moscato Giallo which, as a result of its outstanding acidity structure, has a very fresh and spicy effect. It has a little less Muscat flavor than the Kurtatsch variety with the residual sugar, but it is inspiring with its exotic tones of spice and the jasmine and apricot aromas in the background.
