Alto Adige Pinot Nero Sanct Valentin 2009 It is the endeavour and the inner desire of every winemaker to produce a special wine the Pinot Nero grape, a wine that is impressive because of both broadness and elegance. Targeted selection in our vineyards over the course of years have now produced convincing results. The Pinot Nero of the St. Valentin line has been especially successful. A radiant garnet red, it impresses with its tempting aromas: small berries with crisp cherries, fresh violets, a breath of marzipan. This Pinot Nero opens up with a multifaceted lasting quality. A fine wine for lamb dishes, beef, wild fowl, and cheese, it has an excellent potential for aging.
It goes without saying that Gewürztraminer is the most typical of South Tyrolean white wines. It is here that the wine originated, getting its name the lower vallery wine village of Termeno. This wine is characterised by an intense yellow colour and the unmistakable aroma of roses and mixed spices just like pepper, nutmeg and cloves. It is equally as convincing on the palate where it lingers, leaving behind intense, unforgettable impressions. This white wine is extremely well suited to be served as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to strong-flavored, spicy dishes made fish, lobst and liver pâté. Served chilled, it can be drunk young, yet also ages well.
Without exaggerating: this is an exclusive white wine. Vini - fied the best grapes, maturation in oak casks makes this wine something really special, starting with the strong, golden colour. The fine, elegant aromas are reminiscent of honey produced blossom and tropical fruits. Pleasant vanilla fragrances and a light, buttery taste are noted in the palate. Acidity and smoothness harmonise to make tasting this wine a true pleasure. Indeed, this is a wine to satisfy even the most discerning connosseur. It is an excellent accompaniment to fish dishes, especially fresh water fish.
The Pinot Bianco - the most important and typical of all the South Tyrolean grape varieties - has now been promoted to the top of the St. Valentin range. The St. Valentin has a clear, straw colour with slightly green reflections. It smells delightfully of intensive and typical fruit aromas: ripe app - les and pears combined with melons and a trace of a fine vanilla fragrance. Concentrated and with a wonderful strength and richness, refined and clear in its way, its structure appears refresh- ing despiete the maturation in wood: the Pinot Bianco St. Valentin is a wine which is set to become a real talking point.
