yr. 2004 Jeannie Cho Lee:

94 of 100 Points.

"Jeannie Cho Lee" has rated the wine "Paul Jaboulet Aine Hermitage La Chapelle, Rhone, France" from the vintage 2004 on 01.05.2016 with 94 of 100 points.

"A beautiful, elegant La Chapelle with layers of dark berries, violets and jasmine laced with sweet spices. It is alluring as well as intense with a long finish. Still young but enjoyable now, this wine will age beautifully for another few decades."

yr. 1962 Jeannie Cho Lee:

99 of 100 Points.

"Jeannie Cho Lee" has rated the wine "Paul Jaboulet Aine Hermitage La Chapelle, Rhone, France" from the vintage 1962 on 01.04.2016 with 99 of 100 points.

"A gorgeous La Chapelle that is one of the best vintages I have ever tried. Complex, layered, exotic and spicy with a gorgeous array of flavors. This wine shows the greatness of Syrah in the right hands. Lingering, persistent finish."

yr. 1978 Jeannie Cho Lee:

93 of 100 Points.

"Jeannie Cho Lee" has rated the wine "Paul Jaboulet Aine Hermitage La Chapelle, Rhone, France" from the vintage 1978 on 01.04.2016 with 93 of 100 points.

"This bottle is sullen and very closed compared with the 1962 tasted alongside it. Dark, earthy flavors and savory herbs mingle with firm tannins. There are attractive spices on the finish and the firm tannins are supple and sweet. Best to try another bottle."

yr. 1976 Jeannie Cho Lee:

97 of 100 Points.

"Jeannie Cho Lee" has rated the wine "Paul Jaboulet Aine Hermitage La Chapelle, Rhone, France" from the vintage 1976 on 01.12.2015 with 97 of 100 points.

"A beautifully spicy, exuberant La Chapelle that has layers of exotic spices and sweet dried red berry flavors. The nose has the floral and sweet spicy character of an aged Burgundy with fading garnet color but the palate offers the licorice and cinnamon notes of the Northern Rhone. Perfectly mature now."

yr. 1969 Jeannie Cho Lee:

96 of 100 Points.

"Jeannie Cho Lee" has rated the wine "Paul Jaboulet Aine Hermitage La Chapelle, Rhone, France" from the vintage 1969 on 07.06.2014 with 96 of 100 points.

"Filled with bacon, roasted meat and dried-herb flavours, this vibrant La Chapelle shows how well Syrah can age. The wine is at its peak and starting to show its age, so enjoy now and over the next 6-8 years. Tasted in: Hong Kong, China. Maturity: Drink."

yr. 1990 Jeannie Cho Lee:

93 of 100 Points.

"Jeannie Cho Lee" has rated the wine "Paul Jaboulet Aine Hermitage La Chapelle, Rhone, France" from the vintage 1990 on 18.05.2014 with 93 of 100 points.

"Young, extremely youthful and quite closed. This wine has a lot of bottle variation and depending on how long it is decanted, condition of the bottle to its provenance, there is a wide variation. This bottle was decanted for 1 hour. It is not showing as well as previously tasted bottles. Tasted in: Hong Kong, China. Maturity: Drink."

yr. 1982 Jeannie Cho Lee:

94 of 100 Points.

"Jeannie Cho Lee" has rated the wine "Paul Jaboulet Aine Hermitage La Chapelle, Rhone, France" from the vintage 1982 on 15.12.2013 with 94 of 100 points.

"There were 2 bottles of this wine tasted blind in a flight of 5 Rhone wines from the 1980s. The 2 1982 bottles (one bought from Zachy's auction and the other from the producer) were very different. The one bought directly from Rhone was fresher, younger and more lively. The better bottle still had youthful characters and gorgeous violet and dried red floral notes and sweet spices. An impressive, very elegant wine with a long finish. The wine is at its peak and should be enjoyed now and over the next 7-9 years. Tasted in: Hong Kong, China. Maturity: Drink."

yr. 1988 Jeannie Cho Lee:

88 of 100 Points.

"Jeannie Cho Lee" has rated the wine "Paul Jaboulet Aine Hermitage La Chapelle, Rhone, France" from the vintage 1988 on 15.12.2013 with 88 of 100 points.

"An inward looking wine that is closed and reserved at the moment. The nose offers hints of spices and game and the palate has nice richness of tannins. However, overall, this is a restrained vintage for La Chapelle with all of the flavors taking time in the glass to express itself. It did improve after about an hour in the glass. Enjoy now, it will not improve much more in bottle. Tasted in: Hong Kong, China. Maturity: Drink."

yr. 1983 Jeannie Cho Lee:

92 of 100 Points.

"Jeannie Cho Lee" has rated the wine "Paul Jaboulet Aine Hermitage La Chapelle, Rhone, France" from the vintage 1983 on 07.07.2013 with 92 of 100 points.

"Elegant Hermitage with mostly bottled aged characters remaining in this wine. The wine might have been better in its youth, with greater intensity and expression. At the moment, it is elegant, Burgundian-like with sweet spices and dried dark berry fruit. Moderate length. Very drinkable. Tasted in: Hong Kong, China. Maturity: Drink."

yr. 1998 Jeannie Cho Lee:

94 of 100 Points.

"Jeannie Cho Lee" has rated the wine "Paul Jaboulet Aine Hermitage La Chapelle, Rhone, France" from the vintage 1998 on 22.01.2013 with 94 of 100 points.

"A gorgeous La Chapelle that is showing beautifully right now. Tasted alongside the 1990, it was more exuberant, forward and complex. Layers of violets, sweet spices and meaty notes with a gun flint flavour in the finish. Beautiful wine. Tasted in: Hong Kong, China. Maturity: Drink."
