yr. 2010 Tom Cannavan:

94 of 100 Points.

"Tom Cannavan" has rated the wine "Chateau L'Evangile, Pomerol, France" from the vintage 2010 on 01.01.1970 with 94 of 100 points.

"Very refined nose of ripe, damson plums , a touch of blueberry and a chocolaty touch of plumpness. The oak is refined and gently cedary. The palate has lovely freshness, with a great juiciness and natural concentration: the freshness, tangy, cherry skin liveliness and grip. Good balance here, the fresh fruit and acidity nicely matched to the big, dry tannins and that spicy, warming base of oak."

yr. 2009 Gilbert & Gaillard:

97 of 100 Points.

"Gilbert & Gaillard" has rated the wine "Chateau L'Evangile, Pomerol, France" from the vintage 2009 on 01.01.1970 with 97 of 100 points.

"Intense colour. Profound, endearing nose dominated by aromas of ripe black fruits, balsamic tones. Powerful, warm, very concentrated palate showing lovely quality fruit and fat. Another monumental wine that will have to be kept !"

yr. 2005 Tom Cannavan:

94 of 100 Points.

"Tom Cannavan" has rated the wine "Chateau L'Evangile, Pomerol, France" from the vintage 2005 on 01.01.1970 with 94 of 100 points.

"Beautiful fruit quality again here, with terrific ripeness evident and a rich, kirsch-like and plummy depth. Becomes quite chocolaty in the glass. The palate has very good acid structure that keeps this fresh. It is tight, and not so open and generous as Gazin, but this should be excellent."

yr. 2004 Tom Cannavan:

93 of 100 Points.

"Tom Cannavan" has rated the wine "Chateau L'Evangile, Pomerol, France" from the vintage 2004 on 01.01.1970 with 93 of 100 points.

"Toasty, coffee-ish oak dominates the nose of this very solid, blackish coloured wine at first. That coffee aroma begins to give way to solid, ripe and substantial black fruit, but it remains dark and rich, with a muscular structure rather than fruity intensity. The palate is supple and rich, with a bold, full texture and a raft of dark, creamy black fruit flavour backed up by that solidly dark, toasty and espresso-bean oak. There is lovely grip and fullness here, and an orangy acidity adds lots of crisp elegance on the finish. Great potential."

yr. 2001 Tom Cannavan:

93 of 100 Points.

"Tom Cannavan" has rated the wine "Chateau L'Evangile, Pomerol, France" from the vintage 2001 on 01.01.1970 with 93 of 100 points.

"Fine depth here, even notes of complexity with a suggestion of cedar, vanilla, flowers, sweet plums and a glossy blackcurrant core. Th epalate id concentrated but very fine. There is a weight of silky, black sweet fruit; fruit compote and cassis. Long and structured, this is excellent."

yr. 2002 Tom Cannavan:

89 of 100 Points.

"Tom Cannavan" has rated the wine "Chateau L'Evangile, Pomerol, France" from the vintage 2002 on 01.01.1970 with 89 of 100 points.

"The nose is very closed. Medium bodied palate, quite toasty with delicate black fruits, liquorice and tar. Not a powerful wine like usual from L`Evangile, far more reserved and a bit jammy on the finish. A decent wine but not by L`Evangile`s standards."

yr. 1996 Tom Cannavan:

90 of 100 Points.

"Tom Cannavan" has rated the wine "Chateau L'Evangile, Pomerol, France" from the vintage 1996 on 01.01.1970 with 90 of 100 points.

"First bottle corked. Bright, dark ruby. Opaque core. Very dark cedar wood and creamy dark chocolate nose with dried fruit, prune aromas. Lots of spice too and there is a blackcurranty note in there. Palate shows much greater concentration of fruit than previous wine; much riper too with a blue/black character of bitter-edged plumskins and cherries. Very long with spice and sweet oak bolstered by ripe, chewy tannins. Very long. Fine and should cellar well."
