Our Cuvee of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot is aged for one year in wood, and then bottled. The varietal Merlot originally comes France, is a lighter, dry red wine of garnet to dark garnet color. Our Gewürztraminer is counted among the most popular wines in South Tyrol. The grape variety, which originated in Germany, has found an ideal terroir in South Tyrol. Riesling makes high demands on the site and prefers a cool but sunny climate. This is exactly what the vineyards around Lake Montiggl and the neighbouring sites offer, whose porphyry soils give the wine its special character. The Riesling Fallwind impresses with its fruity notes and mineral acidity, which make it a top-class wine.
Light green lustre run through the straw colour of this wine whose aroma is rich in fruits, the most striking of which are pears. An excellent acidity balance gives this wine strength and structure. It is dry and smooth on the palate, and leaves a long, pleasant aftertaste. The Pinot Grigio goes well with many dishes, especially lighter foods, to which it is an excellent accompaniment. It is served chilled and also bestows a fine taste following longer ageing.
Typical South Tyrolean red wine made the Schiava grape, with a strong ruby to garnet red colour. Its bouquet is characterised by a broad palette as fruity aromas, forest fruits through to cherries, which then open up and intensify on the palate. Delicate and yet at the same time with a strong structure, this St. Magdalener is a pleasant, tempting wine. It goes especially well with roasts, game and spicy cheeses. Alto Adige Pinot Nero Sanct Valentin 2009 It is the endeavour and the inner desire of every winemaker to produce a special wine the Pinot Nero grape, a wine that is impressive because of both broadness and elegance. Targeted selection in our vineyards over the course of years have now produced convincing results. The Pinot Nero of the St. Valentin line has been especially successful. The St. Valentin Comtess' is an especially rare speciality of the winery. A dessert wine of irresistible type, complexity and finesse. After a late harvest (mid-November) Gewürztraminer grapes are mixed with those of Riesling, Sauvignon and dried in wooden crates for several weeks, then they are pressed and transferred to a steel casket for maturation. Comtess' is characterised by a multiface - ted bouquet with aromas reminiscent of roses, cinamon and nutmeg. The young, fresh fragrances intensify in their complexity when correctly matured in the bottle, gradually assuming discrete hints of honey. An elegantly tasteful dessert wine with a full-bodied, fresh acidity which pairs harmoniously with the matching residual sweetness. It unleashes on the palate a delicate symphony of impressions and experiences, which leave behind a lasting effect. A wine with a future, which can be left to mature at the winery for several years without further ado.
It goes without saying that Gewürztraminer is the most typical of South Tyrolean white wines. It is here that the wine originated, getting its name the lower vallery wine village of Termeno. This wine is characterised by an intense yellow colour and the unmistakable aroma of roses and mixed spices just like pepper, nutmeg and cloves. It is equally as convincing on the palate where it lingers, leaving behind intense, unforgettable impressions. This white wine is extremely well suited to be served as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to strong-flavored, spicy dishes made fish, lobst and liver pâté. Served chilled, it can be drunk young, yet also ages well.
The Lagrein St. Valtentin is easily recognisable thanks to its almost black colour. Complex cocoa and Prunella aromas, dark fruits of the forest and vanilla typify the bouquet, which are spread in a complex way. The wine unleashes an immense strength on the palat. It possesses a finely-integrated structure and smooth-strong tanning agents that linger harmoniously in the mouth.

It smells delightfully of intensive and typical fruit aromas: ripe app - les and pears combined with melons and a trace of a fine vanilla fragrance. Concentrated and with a wonderful strength and richness, refined and clear in its way, its structure appears refresh- ing despiete the maturation in wood: the Pinot Bianco St. Valentin is a wine which is set to become a real talking point.
A red wine made the Schiava grape, which is still the most widely-cultivated in South Tyrol. This variety has been able to develop and improve to its best form in special cultivation areas, such as on the hills of Pagis in Ap - piano. Its clear, ruby red colour is charming; the wine re - veals fruity aromas, gentle violets and jasmine. A Schiava which, thanks to its multifaceted character, is excellently suited as an accompaniment for most dishes throughout an entire meal. It goes especially well with traditional Tyrolean snacks such as bread with bacon, sausages and cheeses. This wine is drunk young at cellar temperature chilled but not cold.
