Fresh, fruity and noble - Our South Tyrolean summer wines. The wines we have selected today are serious yet enjoyable wines that will please any palate. They are refreshing,with moderate acidity and are best suited as terrace wines, as aperitifs or as accompaniments to light, Mediterranean cuisine.
Pinot Blanc Plötzner - St. Pauls Winery
The high and steep vineyards of "Plötzner", at the foot of the Mendelgebirge on limestone rocks, shape the unique character of this Weissburgunder, which captivates with its typical fruity aroma of apple, peach and pear. On the palate, it is juicy, with a straightforward freshness and mineral finish.
Sylvaner - Cantina Valle Isarco
The Sylvaner grape feels particularly at home in the not too high, airy and warm slopes of the central Eisack Valley. The shallow, gravelly, weathered soils give the wine its incomparable delicacy and elegance. The lemon-yellow Sylvaner the Eisacktaler winery impresses with its pleasant freshness and balanced body; it is dry and very aromatic. The aroma is reminiscent of peach, apple and apricot.
Sauvignon Stern - Cantina Caldaro
Sauvignon Blanc was introduced to South Tyrol at the end of the 19th century and has since become indigenous. Sauvignon Stern captivates with its light, straw-yellow appearance. Immediately, the aromas of elderberry, cassis and exotic fruits and some gooseberry are in the nose. On the palate, too, it comes across as fruity and juicy-salty. It convinces with its good length and fruity finish.
Rosé Pischl - Bolzano Winery
Rosé Pischl is a fruity, fresh summer wine that can be served chilled as an aperitif or with hors d'oeuvres. Its colour ranges pink to light ruby red. The aroma is delicately fruity and reminiscent of red berries, sour cherry and violets, and even has slight marzipan tones. On the palate, the rosé comes with elegant harmonic fullness with fresh and juicy acidity.
Kalterersee Auslese Quintessence - Cantina Caldaro
Pure drinking pleasure and the embodiment of the attitude to life on Lake Kaltern, that is what the Auslese Quintessenz brings. The bright ruby red wine with hints of cherry, raspberry and strawberry and some spicy elements goes well with white meat and grilled fish as well as vegetables. When chilled, it is refreshing and crisply fruity, soft on the palate and rich in finesse on the finish.
Lagrein - Cantina Colterenzio
Lagrein is one of the pearls of South Tyrolean red wines and captivates with its dark garnet red with violet tones. It smells of violets, black berries, a hint of chocolate and intensely spicy aromas. It is characterised in particular by its noble finesse and its incomparable bouquet, which has already seduced many a wine connoisseur.
