"Torilan - the old name for Terlano - has been chosen for the red equivalent of the white Terlaner Classico. This cuvée is something new in terms of varietal composition: The classic combination of Merlot and Cabernet has been modified with the addition of Pinot Noir, which gives the wine its distinctive elegance and finesse." Rudi Kofler

Vinification Deion:
Manual harvest and selection of the grapes; destemming followed by slow must fermentation at a controlled temperature and gentle agitation of the must in stainless steel tanks; malolactic fermentation and aging in big wooden barrels for 7-10 months; blending six months before bottling.

Production area:
Name: Terlano
Municipality: Terlano
Altitude: 250 - 500 m a. s. l.
Slope: 5 - 35 %
Orientation: South - Southwest

Wine character:
Color: intensive garnet red with ruby reflections.
Smell: In the glass, Merlot aromas reminiscent of cassis and black cherry combine with the spicy-smoky character of the Cabernet, revealing a touch a green pepper and vanilla. The elegant blackberry notes of the Pinot Noir round of the composition to form a harmonious whole.
Taste: On the palate, this cuvée offers an interesting symbiosis of the fruit of the Pinot Noir, the spiciness and tannins of the Cabernet, and the rich complexity of the Merlot.

Simple pairings:
Goes well with grilled cutlets with ratatouille, venison medallions in a south Tyrolean bread crust with Schupfnudel (potato dumplings), entrecote with grilled vegetables or a venison goulash with pilaf rice.

The Terlan Winery, also known as Cantina Terlano, is a renowned winegrowing cooperative in the heart of the Italian region of South Tyrol. The history of the winery dates back to 1893, when 24 winegrowers joined forces to unite and improve their wine production. Today, Terlan is one of the most famous wine-growing regions in the whole of Italy and the Terlan Winery is considered one of the best wine producers in the country.

The Terlan area, which stretches between Bolzano and Merano, is characterised by its unique geological and climatic conditions. The vineyards of the Terlan Winery are situated at an altitude of 250 to 900 metres above sea level and benefit the warm days and cool nights influenced by the main Alpine ridge. The soils are characterised by calcareous porphyry rock, which gives the wines their characteristic minerality.

The Terlan Winery is best known for its white wines, especially the Terlaner Sauvignon, which has been one of the best wines in Italy for many years. The Terlaner Sauvignon is a complex and elegant wine that captivates with its aromas of gooseberries, peppers and elderflowers as well as its refined acidity structure. But also the other white wines of the winery, such as the Terlaner Pinot Bianco or the Terlaner Chardonnay, are of outstanding quality and stand out for their freshness and liveliness.

In addition to the white wines, the Terlan Winery also produces some red wines, including the Terlan Lagrein and the Terlan Cabernet Sauvignon. These wines are marked by the characteristic Terlan minerality and the fruity aromas that are typical in the region.

The Terlan Winery is a winegrowers' cooperative consisting of about 200 members who together cultivate about 190 hectares of vineyards. The members work according to strict quality criteria and strive to get the best out of their vineyards. The Terlan Winery relies on gentle and sustainable cultivation methods and works closely with the winegrowers to continuously improve the quality of their wines.

The wines of the Terlan Winery are known in many countries around the world and are appreciated by wine lovers and critics alike. The winery has received numerous awards and is considered one of Italy's leading winegrowing cooperatives.

Terlaner Pinot Blanc - 2023 - 0.75 lt. - winery Terlano

Color: clear pale yellow with a slight greenish shimmer. Smell: On the nose this classic Pinot Bianco scores with crisp notes of pear mingling with aromas of raspberry and lime, plus a touch of camomile and lemon grass to round off the composition. Taste: Body and balance sum up the Pinot Bianco, which intrigues the palate with the fruit of the pear and quince aromas combined with a salty minerality. The wine tickles the tongue and goes on to deliver a persistent aftertaste.
