"This phenomenal wine is so beautiful and so perfect that it is surreal. The nose is a complex arrray of both dried and fresh flowers that is as intoxicating as a great woman's perfume. The palate is silky and persistent, offering layers of seductive red fruit and floral flavors combined with exotic spices. The tannins are so silky they are barely there and the finish is incredibly long and lingering. This is a perfect Vogue Musigny."

Incredibly approachable and linear with lovely purity and long length. There was about 20% damage from hail in this vintage for Musigny. A delicious vintage with fine intensity and harmony to see it through for decades of aging."

"(2015) A super-expensive wine and a real treat to drink this single bottle from my cellar. The nose has some mustiness initially, but then begins to blossom, with briar and truffle, a sweet damp earth note and something firm and vegetal too, like liquorice root perhaps, a touch of beetroot. On the palate cool and structured: even at 20 years old this is not a softened and mellow, fading style. Instead it has taut black fruit at the core, some clove and bitter edge of endive, but the cherry-tight fruit persists. Lovely acidity here, tingling on the lips with the tight tannins and that spine of pure, serious concentation. Magical. Drunk from Zalto Burgundy glasses."

Am Gaumen rund und üppig, zart pfeffrige Note, gute Balance, hat kraftvolle Tannine, bereits balanciert, bleibt haften, hat viel Kraft, braucht noch einige Jahre auf der Flasche, um an Eleganz zuzulegen. Die Mehrheit der Verkoster der Grand Jury lehnte diesen Wein deutlich ab, was ihm in der Gesamtwertung einen Absturz bescherte."

Am Gaumen süß und komplex, feine nussige Aromen, angenehmer Schokotouch, etwas Dörrobst, frische Textur, zitronige Nuancen, ein recht stoffiger Wein, mit guter Süße ausgestattet, der aber doch schon ein klein wenig unfrisch wirkt. Um diesen Wein zur Geltung zu bringen, muss man ihn einen Tag vorher dekantieren, weil er extrem verschlossen ist. Ob dieser Wein sein Terroir darstellt, bleibt weiterhin eine Frage, über die sich trefflich streiten lässt."

Plenty of sweet vanilla in the background. Fine, earthy, gorgeously animal palate with bloody notes suffused with dried cherry and tobacco. Great acidity, powerful tannins and rather young, though fabulous length."

"This is great red Burgundy from the oldest domaine in the village. It is all there: powerful floral aromas, flavors of a coulis of black fruits, ripe tannins and sweet fruit with balancing acidity. The wine manages to combine a deep, almost brooding strength with a dense, silky texture. For a 2000, a lesser year than 1999, this is a great achievement. Keep for at least 12 years."
