Even better than I remember it cask, the 2016 Gigondas features hints of mocha and ripe raspberries. Slightly bitter herbal notes balance the sweetness of the fruit and impart a savory edge to this full-bodied, creamy-textured wine. It finishes supple and long, loaded with character and richness.

"Peppery notes of scorched bramble and dried sage perfume ripe, rich flavors of preserved plum and black fig in this weighty blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Cinsault matured in 20% new oak. It's an unctuously textured wine marked by strikes of char, vanilla and smoke but finishes fresh and delightfully salty. Delicious young, the wine should improve through 2028 and hold further still.
